Normally the damage is whether a little chip or a scratch, in which scenario any nearby repair center will be able to fix it, and quite often driver him or her self can repair it too. However, in case the damage is larger, then this decision becomes harder. Naturally nearly all people choose to service their windows, then again it is recommended to ask a competent specialist.

In case the price of repair is definitely more as compared to 50% of the price of the brand new glass, it is a good idea to get a brand new one instead of repairing, considering that in case of major repairs fixes probably won’t last for very long simply because of various other hidden problems. If you’ve decided to go to a local auto technician, check out these places near San Diego and see what users of yelp.com said about them:

Fallon H said: Got a few rocks that hit my car from driving back and forth to Vegas. So I called them and they gave me a quote on the phone. I asked if they could come to my office to install my new window and that was not a problem for them. The two gentleman that came out were nice and knowledgeable about the work that they were doing. I would definitely recommend to my friends.

Candy L said: Two small rock chips in my windshield on the same day while driving through Bryce Canyon. In San Diego 2 weeks later & the top of my list was to get those chips repaired ASAP.

Was referred to THE CRACK DOCTOR through my daughter-in-law & also numerous 5 star ratings on YELP!! Within an hour, had an appointment & repair complete!!! I actually thought I would read the newspaper while I waited, but that didn’t happen because Gene(tech/owner) & I had a lovely conversation about similar road trips taken & previous careers in the same field.

I walked away 100% satisfied…perfect repair done in a very timely manner with a 100% lifetime guarantee, along with a very fair price & a lovely conversation. Thank you, Gene!

Michael L said: We needed to have the windshield replaced on our 2005 Civic Hybrid due to pitting from driving in the desert. I had gotten quotes from numerous places online, even that nationally advertised place. They averaged about $225 on the quotes. Auto Glass gave a quote of $159 online.

I then called to make an appointment the next day. We dopped the car off and were told it would be about an hour by Brendan. When we went back to pay, guess what, the bill was $159! No added costs or hidden fees. Great service, warranted products and the BEST PRICE. Why would you go anywhere else?

I asked for discount for paying in cash and got $10 off the quoted price. I also heard him give someone $10 off for some other reason as I was waiting, so I’m sure it’s common practice.

The moral of the story here is ask and you shall receive.

Chrysti G said: had a great experience with these guys! I was really worried when I saw a large crack in my windshield, so I called A Clear View immediately. Billy explained to me that it wasn’t going to implode on me while driving (haha), and he went out of his way to squeeze me in the next day. They came by to my place and let my boyfriend and I watch them replace the windshield like magic!

A month later, it’s still doing great. It cost a lot less than I expected it to, and if I get a chip in this new windshield, they said they’d come fix it for free!

Thanks, Billy!
